Frequently Asked Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Is fuel included?

A: Yes

Q: Is the instructor included?

A: Yes

Q: Do I need insurance?

A:No

Q: Is there a minimum?

A: No

Q: Can I get my multi rating with you?

A: I endorse Zenda Leiss for that. She does the rating for $5000 including fuel aircraft, instructor, and checkride fee. Her number is (326)324-9595. She accepts cash, cash, or cash.

Q: Can I just do my 3 landings with you to get current again?

A: Maybe! We don’t do touch and goes. Expect to pay extra if we accept your request. Call us.

Q: May I split time with a friend?

A: No. If something were to go wrong, would you rather sit next to your friend, or would you prefer an experienced, trained professional next to you?

Q: How can I get a discount?

A: Our prices are extremely fair and competitive. No discounts.

Q: Is there a cash discount?

A: Our prices indicated are for cash. There will be a 3% charge added for any other form of payment.

Q: Do you accept credit cards? PayPal? Zelle? Cash app? Etc?

A: We accept credit and debit cards but charge an additional 3%. PayPal costs us a whopping 8% which gets passed on to you. Same for cash app. In a nutshell, my fees are passed on to you if you choose to pay that way.

Q:  How do I schedule?

A: Call (269)369-3815 BETWEEN 9AM AND 9PM EASTERN!

Q: Are there other charges I need to know about?

A: Landing, parking, handling, ramp fees are passed on if You choose those situations. Most airports we stop at are free. If you refuel at a location that charges more than KIKW, you are charged the difference. If you deface or damage our planes with pens, pencils, sticky notes, spilled drinks, snack crumbs, go pro mounts, etc we will charge you to clean up after you. Common sense and courtesy goes a long way. Mistakes happen, negligence shouldn’t.

Q: Do you have a fact sheet?

A: Yes! It’s in this website. Please read it prior to scheduling. I’ll even include it at the bottom of this page to make it easier for you.

Q: I’m an expert. I don’t need a preflight briefing. Can I avoid the $50 pre-brief charge?

A: With that attitude we’ll charge $100! The pre-brief charge covers questions we will get asked during scheduling normally caused by not reading the FAQ’s or reviewing the fact sheet. It also covers aircraft familiarization. Everyone pays it once.

Q: Where can we go?

A: As long as you can fit your route within the time you scheduled we are open to your preference. Niagara Falls, Chicago skyline, Mackinac Island, Detroit skyline, New York Skyline, lighthouse spotting, and waterfall spotting are all popular

Q: Can I bring my dog?

A: Fido is happier at home waiting for you. Seriously.

Q: Can I bring my parents/girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/wife/mistress/etc.?

A: We don’t take passengers because we don’t want anyone being charged for sightseeing. It starts looking and smelling like an illegal charter.

Q: Where is your company based?

A: KIKW. We have hangars at several area airports and can accommodate you at those as well. The twins are hangared at KFNT. Our major maintenance is done at D95.

Q: I’m flying in via the airlines. Where do I go?

A: Allegiant, American, and United fly to KFNT. We can pick you up from there and take you to your hotel or to the airport from there. No need to rent a car. Alternatively, you can fly into KDTW and take a cab to KYIP. We will fly in and pick you up from there too.

Q: I’m flying my aircraft in. Where should I go?

A: Let us know during scheduling. We’ll let you know the best choice as each situation dictates.

Q: Why do you require a deposit for scheduling?

A: We’ve been burned with too many scheduling cancellations. Your $500 deposit gets credited to your flight charges at the end of your agreed upon session

Q: I received an invoice for a deposit. Does that apply to your requirement to prepay?

A: No. You can wait to prepay leasing charges until you have acceptable weather, the instructor, the plane is ready, and you’re ready to fly. Payment for your expected flight is then due prior to engine start.

Q: Do you fly IFR?

A: Usually no. Our aircraft are IFR certified, but we are flying all day. Fatigue mitigation adds to safety. We may go IFR through a layer to reach smooth, clear air above. It’s case by case.

Q: What’s your experience level?

A: The company owners are ATP rated with airline experience. We are well-versed in current hiring practices, requirements, and trends for both airline and corporate flying. You’re in good hands.

Q: Do you have a recommended hotel list?

A: Yes! Please check the website for an updated list.
